2012: A Year For Success

If you are reading this post, be thankful that you not only woke up to see another day, but you also lived to see another year. This past year was one of the best years of my life for many reasons, but mainly because it was a year of risk, change, and transition. Hopefully 2012 will be even more memorable and life-changing.

Let's Catch Up!

Where have you guys been? You've missed so much in the past couple of weeks. Ok, I know it's my fault since the last update was before my auditions for The Voice, but the world doesn't stop going because one person needs to update their blog. So, I had to prioritize and unfortunately my blog didn't make it into the top 10 most important things.

Chasing The Voice: Part 2

Hello everyone! Hope you are doing well this Sunday. Just wanted to let you all know that you are great and so supportive of my journey to NBC's "The Voice". For those who don't know, I haven't been blogging as much because I have been vlogging via YouTube...

Chasing The Voice: Part 1

In case you haven't heard I will be auditioning for NBC's "The Voice" on August 30th. Yes, you read correctly. In my last post I talked about taking a risk and not letting fear stop you from chasing your dreams...

This post won’t be too long today, but rather short and sweet. There are some people who are always there when you need them. When I need advice, when I need money, when I need comfort and support, when I need to strengthen my faith, when I need health advice, when I have an emergency, or when I just need to talk, my father, The Reverend Emile Ennis Sr., is always there for me. No matter how much I need from him he continues to support me. Read more

Toy Story Revived!

With the release of Toy Story 3, I had to dedicate today’s post to the wonderful people at Pixar. As you all know, I love anything to do with television and film. However, there are certain movies that hold a special place in my heart. Anyone who grew up in the 90s, had kids who grew up in the 90s, or was alive in the 90s, knows that Toy Story was one of the most popular movies when it was released. For kids, it solidified the fact that your toys do come alive when you leave the room, and for parents, it was a great family movie that had a positive message. Read more

What can I say about today? EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB…for the most part! You know when you have those moments where you feel like something is meant to be? Well, today I had one of those moments. My official tour was scheduled for 12:00 p.m. and I left the house early enough to get there early. That plan went drastically wrong. There was heavy road construction right around the school. Therefore, there were numerous detours and delays.   Read more

I am officially loving L.A.! I met lots of celebrities at the internship on Friday, and I even took pictures with some of them. However, due to contractual obligations, I cannot publish or reveal any information or pictures until production is complete. I wish I could, but you all will see it in the future. I am learning so much here. Anyway, I was so excited when I got off of work. I parked my car down the street (remember this was on Friday at 7:30 p.m.) and ran inside the house to upload them to my computer. Read more

I hope everyone likes the new design! I was ready for a change, and more customized look. Please spread the word about my blog, and don’t forget to leave comments and subscribe. Today’s topic doesn’t really deal with the grad school portion of this blog, but rather the beyond. Since I still haven’t found a job out here and I only intern three times a week, I have a lot of spare time. During this time I meet new people, explore different parts of L.A. and California, update the blog, prepare for graduate school and just relax. Read more

I am extremely tired this morning. I was up until 3:30 a.m. working on a video for my cousin. I put a lot of time and effort into making it.  I will be shooting and editing numerous videos while I am out here, and hopefully they will help to improve my demo reel. Anyway, the video that I was working on is a submission for Oprah’s new contest. Read more

We were extremely slow at the office today. Therefore, I had a lot of time to reflect on life and my experiences. For those who don’t know, I applied to the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation Editing Internship in March. Obviously I did not get it, but I am more than happy with where I am now with MRB. I was devastated when I found out that I was not chosen. I didn’t want to talk to anybody or go to work. I didn’t even want to eat. There was so much I had invested in preparing for that one internship that I never took the time to prepare myself for the possibility of rejection. Read more

So…I was on set at 8:00 A.M. this morning and just left at 8:30 P.M. It has been a long day, but I had a blast. I met plenty of people today, and I received tons of advice. Today’s commercial shoot was not the most interesting, but it was better than sitting on the sofa all day.  Who knew that so much was involved in creating a 30 second commercial? I guess I already knew, but to actually be there was a great experience. Read more
